About

A little about me

Since my childhood, I have been drawn to making things. It didn't matter what - doll houses and crossbows as a kid, cars and machines in my twenties and now furniture, leather goods and so much more. My happy place is in a workshop - unhurried, deliberate, analog, present - savoring the process and striving to get a little better each time.

I have made a conscious choice to avoid commercializing this hobby, protecting it from the distractions of price tags, customers and deadlines. Instead, I enjoy it for its intrinsic grounding value. I deeply identify with the philosophies of Stoicism (own what you control, accept what you cannot), Wabi Sabi (celebrate imperfection, impermanence and incompleteness) and Minimalism (ruthlessly discard what is not valuable). This hobby gives me frequent opportunities to try to practice all three...

I grew up in India and now live with my family in the suburbs of Chicago.

Thanks for visiting. I'd love to hear from you.
